Before You Start
To stream to YouTube with Mentra Live, you need the Streamer miniapp installed from the Mentra app. YouTube may require live streaming to be enabled on your account before stream keys work.
Step by Step
- Open the Streamer miniapp in the Mentra app
- Select YouTube as your streaming platform
- Get your stream key from YouTube Studio (found in your YouTube creator dashboard)
- Paste the stream key exactly into Streamer — no extra spaces
- Tap Start streaming
- Wait approximately 25 seconds for streaming to start (authentication and initialization)
- Confirm your live session appears in YouTube Studio
Tips
- Enable live streaming on your YouTube account before attempting to stream
- Keep your phone close to your glasses during the stream
- Use a stable network connection to avoid dropped streams
Troubleshooting
If streaming won't start after 60 seconds:
- Restart the Streamer miniapp
- Check your network connection
- Verify the stream key was pasted correctly with no extra spaces
- Try regenerating your stream key in YouTube Studio and paste the new key
